Gather

We have started to do small group tours again, post quarantine! To join us for one, fill out the form at the bottom of the page or email us at dominionsanctuaryMI@gmail.com.

Each small group tour consists of only 5-8 people; we’ve found this works best to keep the animals comfortable and let their personalities shine. Small group tours are a wonderful way to come visit our sanctuary, get to know the animals, hear their stories, and fall in love with their joy, independence, and personalities.

Here are our planned small group tours from June and forward, they’ll be deleted if we end up needing to cancel them due to Coronavirus to help keep our communities safe. All tours are at 10 am unless special arrangements are made.

Small group tours are offered at least one weekend a month from May – November (additional weekend days or times are often added by request last minute- feel free to ask for a date or time not listed!) It is essential that you rsvp and we know you’re coming ahead of time. It is essential that we keep the groups to 8 or fewer, so the pigs are comfortable and everyone is safe; your RSVP is required. Address and parking arrangements are provided as your date nears.

Pigs are independent creatures, and aside from any treats you offer them, or belly rubs they ask for, they are usually quite content to graze and roll in the mud. You’ll get to witness pigs just being pigs in a place where you know they’re free from harm and are protected.

Chickens may or may not be held during a tour, there’s no way to know for certain if they’ll want to be held. It’s about a 50/50 chance. If they are interested, there’s nothing like snuggling a chicken; their feathers are so beautiful and soft.

After visiting the animals, you are welcome to join Allie on a short walk to see our next-step expansion plans for the future. The tour may last anywhere between 45 minutes to just over an hour. It depends on how many questions are asked and discussed.

Some people like to hang back and simply observe, some people like to get all the pig and chicken love that they can. Whatever you want to do is fine; we will go over all the safety information before we meet the animals, and you will be asked to sign a waiver. We ask for a $5 donation per person that you can pay ahead of time or bring cash to the event, and we will have some merchandise for sale if you’d like to buy anything in support of the sanctuary. Thank you!

On this reservation form, In “other details” please include date you’d like to attend, number of people in your party, and how you heard about us. Your registration is not confirmed until you hear back from me that I received it. Sometimes I have to ask that you move it an hour or two later so that the group sizes stay small. Thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you!
